Dishes with Sense and Sensibility

Last year I had the honor of receiving a phone call from Kissing Camels Garden Club requesting a recreation my Sense and Sensibility Tablescapes they had the opportunity to see the previous year.

With the Holidays upon us this is the perfect time to share this tablescape inspired by the Jane Austin novel, Sense and Sensibility

Fall colors of rich browns, lime greens and white.

Layers of fabrics, porcelain, glass and metals.

Place card holders of the characters from the book.

Hardback books are part of the centerpiece and pages of the novel are printed, rolled and tied with grosgrain ribbon.

A serving table carries the same theme of brown and white pumpkins. Fall leaves, cats tail and green pears are carefully placed.

Place the unexpected in a cloche.

Add varying heights for serving pieces by stacking books.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Every tablescape requires some sort of candlelight.

A feast for the eye of the reader.

  1. What a beautiful setting -- those zaps of green are just my favorite thing. Thank you for following.

Did you make this blog header? I want to add one to mine, don't really know how, but love the look of yours.
